Oscar Predictions

I’m pretty much assuming the following have a lock on their respective awards and will be really shocked if they don’t win

Best Picture: The King’s Speech
Actor: Colin Firth (The King’s Speech)
Actress: Natalie Portman (Black Swan)

Things now get a bit more tricky, but I’m going for:
Supporting Actor: Christian Bale (The Fighter)
Supporting Actress: Hailee Steinfeld (True Grit)
Director: David Fincher (The Social Network)

Adapted Screenplay: The Social Network
Original Screenplay: The King’s Speech

Animation: Toy Story 3 – another lock

Art Direction: Alice In Wonderland – didn’t like the film but it looked pretty
Cinematography: True Grit – fingers crossed for perennial brides-made Roger Deakins
Costume Design: King’s Speech – The historical one usually gets it

Documentary: Torn on this, heart says Exit Through The Giftshop, head says Inside Job (which I’ve not seen but is getting a lot of attention)… going for Exit as I want see Banksy in a chimp mask storm the stage.

Documentary Short: No idea… guess Poster Girl for no obvious reason

Editing: Nothing stands out – I’ll for 127 House as it was pretty flash

Foreign Language: This is always a lottery, guess Dogtooth

Makeup: The Wolfman

Music: Inception (another heart guess)

Music Song: Toy Story 3

Short Film Animated: Day & Night (another total guess)

Short Film: Wish 143 (saw it online yesterday, after listening to a interview with the director on the radio – it’s not totally brilliant but it’s British, so go home team!)

Sound Editing: Inception
Sound Mixing: Inception
Visual Effects: Inception

These sort of technical awards usually go to the flashiest blockbuster
