Whilst I still watch it (I dropped Torchwood after the first series and Primeval recently… never got into the Sarah Jane thing) and for the most part it’s pretty entertaining – there’s usually at least one stand-out episode each series – the new Doctor Who has some terribly lazy writing at times. Especially when it’s a Russell T Davies script. This article on the use of the sonic screwdriver as some sort of magic plot-solving device sums up a lot of my thoughts on the matter. And don’t even get me started on the that magic-paper thing…
